Paranormal Activity in the Coffee Bar

Posted on: October 7th, 2013 by jaypoole No Comments

Just how cruel can we be in scaring poor innocents with scenes that are set-up to completely mess with their heads. It’s been a long time since the first Carrie film, so I guess the movie promotions team had to think of clever ways to remind the public just how weird the original Carrie character actually was. I think based on the freaky activity these innocent customers got to see, they will have done a great job once this goes viral. As of October 7th (today) it has quickly amassed over 7,000 views so far.

Boss Responds To Video Resignation

So the initial video may have been a set up or maybe it wasn’t. With a response as immediate as this then I’m going for the set-up as it’s certainly a great free way to advertise your job position – probably keep them staffed for the next couple of years..

A Job Interview To Remember?

Do you think all of these people would have seen the funny side? I think one or two appeared slightly upset! This video has started to go viral (published on Sep 2nd 2013 and has almost 8 million views 8 days later) and you can see why. A modern mix of technology with a typical candid camera style set-up. After the success of this video you can bet there’ll be a few others using this idea in the coming months.

TNT – They Certainly Like Their Explosives

Here is another staged event in a public place inviting passers by to ‘Press The Button’. In this example the unfortunates are whisked away in a van and exposed to further Bruce Willis Die Hard style drama. I wonder if they took out insurance for heart failures?

The Pepsi Max Test Drive

According to people who know American cars better than me, then although this is a great viral video, apparently the car dealer is probably an actor since he doesn’t work at that branch, and the car is in fact a 2013 model rather than a 2009. However it’s a might fine example of a viral marketing video that is just about perfect. Not too long, whets our appetite, sets up the supposed background story, then has us riding along holding our breath with the poor car room salesman – except it was almost definitely staged a lot more than they’d want us believe.

Hey Pass Me A Beer

Another Brand video. At 3/4 million views then not shabby although not a monster. I put it up only because I wonder exactly how many takes it took to get all of those clips done. Answers on a postcard…

Unlock The 007 In You – New Coke Zero Commercial

Posted on: October 23rd, 2012 by jaypoole No Comments

Here is another in the same set of videos advertising Coke Zero along with the new Sky Fall James Bond movie. On this occasion, another huge budget production, but this one isn’t as clever in comparison with the other advert set in the train station. In that advert then people can relate to a challenge that could have easily happened to them if they’d have used the coke machine on that day. With this ad, great stunts and a nice little plot line of getting the girl, but this won’t be as popular as the other.

Great Viral Marketing Example – Unlock the 007 in you. You have 70 seconds!

A great example of an advertising video which has already gone viral in a short space of time. This is big budget stuff and often it’s the low budget stuff that appeals the most, but there is enough content in here for people to want to share it. It has cameras dotted about all over a train station, and a bunch of actors who intervened and tried to delay the members of the public who were given the 007 Bond challenge of getting to the platform in 70 seconds to claim their prize of free tickets to the latest Bonf film.

Adding Drama In A Public Place

Posted on: April 12th, 2012 by jaypoole No Comments

Creating a public event that can be captured is relatively east if you have a good idea, a few cameras set up to capture the action guerilla style and a willing supply of actors prepared to do crazy stuff. And in this great example the more actors the better.
